Torrijas

In the Easter holidays I travelled to Seville and I always went to the same café. In the shop window there were loads of different sweet and salate food but I always fixed in the "torrijas" so now I will put the recipe so you can taste it. There are lot of variants, I will write some of them. Enjoy it :)

Ingredients:

-6 slices day-old bread
-1 / 2 liter milk
-2 eggs
-Olive oil
-3 tablespoons sugar
-Cinnamon

Preparation:

Step 1: Pour the hot milk (with sugar already built) on a plate and let the bread soaking do not overcook, take off and become a source to drain, after an hour to soak.

Step 2: The bread is passed by the beaten eggs and fry until browned on both sides ..

Step 3: sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar to taste. French toast can be eaten cold or hot and served a lifetime as a good dessert and a great and healthy breakfast.

Variants / Cheats / Secrets:

Tip 1: Cut the bread into slices of a thick finger. Tip 2: Remove the toast from the pan, drained and placed in a tray. Finally, sprinkle with cinnamon or sugar to taste. You can also make french toast with syrup. Tip 3: you can add a few lemon peel by heating the milk. If you let it boil, let it cool slightly.. Tip 4: orange stripe in the egg. Tip 5: French toast can be decorated with strawberry or currant jelly. Tip 6: another variant according to the traditional toast is to add a bit of strong coffee or coffee liqueur to the milk (or both) and end with the usual process. Tip 7: bread soaked in milk with cinnamon, is dipped in egg and fried, is a source prepared a syrup of sweet white wine, a little water and sugar, put the toast to warm to suck a little
syrup.

Torrijas sweet wine: instead of the milk is soaked with sweet red wine (1 / 2 liter) served with a little honey.

French toast. A variant of the family are French toast French toast (the movie Kramer vs. Kramer explains them very well): bread dipped in egg and milk are poured into the pan with a little oil or butter ... simple and delicious.

Torrijas Seville. Another variant is the Torrijas Seville, which sends Lan recipe: To make this simple dessert, we need day-old bread crumbs that have a consistent, white wine, eggs, honey and olive oil, cut into oblique slices (since sell well.) Beat two eggs, bread soaked in white wine rather insisting on the edges so there is no dry, pass through the egg and let it drain well, eventually fry in hot oil and then bathe in honey diluted with a little water.

Torrijas my style. Heat the milk with lemon peel, sugar and cinnamon, when it's cooked, take a glass of brandy and cool too little, because with the hot milk, soak up more. It is left to drain a bit in a colander, and dipped in egg, fried, put on kitchen paper and then dipped in sugar and cinnamon. (525)
